Her work is shaped by place, cultural inheritance, and the seasonal rhythms of northern landscapes. Drawing from her Finnish-American background, she approaches design as a way of observing how land, labor, and memory shape visual communication over time. Rather than treating heritage as aesthetic, she uses it as context, a lens to understand material, form, and meaning.
Her work spans across brand identity, typography, upper peninsula history, illustration, packaging, pattern, digital and print media, with an emphasis on clarity, restraint, and storytelling rooted in a sense of place. Amber brings a research-driven and intentional approach to design that reflects both contemporary design standards and long-standing regional traditions.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design and Public History from Northern Michigan University (2019) and works seasonally as a U.S. Park Ranger, an experience that continues to shape her understanding of landscape, stewardship, communication, and design.
Amber accepts design projects on a limited, project-by-project basis.
